Basketball

Camden finished up the basketball portion of Sports for Tots last night. The practice was actually outside since the gym was tied up and boy was it windy and cool. They cut practice short and gave out certificates at the end!!! Camden was excited--he really enjoyed basketball this time.

We start baseball next week which I think he will like a lot more. We practiced baseball the other night with Aunt Margaret and Camden did very well. He loves to hit the ball although he throws like me (according to Russell) which isn't good :)

Here is a picture of Camden and his certificate (I don't know why he smiles like that!!):

This is how windy it was:

Fun weekend!

Well, I didn't get to take as many pictures as I hoped this weekend!
Camden and I had fun mowing and washing my car yesterday morning. He was such a big help and loved the water hose. After Russell got home from work, we went to Lowe's for some flowers and came home and planted those. Again, Camden was in charge of the water hose--he watered every flower that I planted (along with everything else in his path). We loved being outside although it was very hot!!!

Today we went to a birthday party and then came to Grandma and Papa's. Here is a picture from the birthday party...

Busy, busy...

It's been a busy couple weeks!!! I coordinated a golf tournament at my work to benefit the United Way and I've been swamped with that! After working crazy hours, the last thing I want to do is come home and get back on the computer!!

Anyway, the golf tournament is over and it was a lot of fun! I can't wait to see how much money we raised. Probably not as much as last year but overall, I think this was the best tournament we've held so far (this was the 6th). We had a lot of great donated items--mainly a catered lunch by Buffalo Wild Wings and a 32" flat screen TV!!!

Camden had his pre-op appointment yesterday in preparation for his dental surgery on Friday. He passed his pre-op with flying colors!! I'm so lucky to have such a healthy little boy!! He did so well (and thanks to Grandma for going with us). One funny thing: I got him a McDonald's happy meal for lunch yesterday and the toy was a music CD! He was so crushed!! He had been looking forward to a Monsters vs. Aliens toy and was not happy at all with the CD!! Poor little thing. He said: "Why did they do that?"

We are going to be working outside all day today and I'm very excited!! Camden and I are going to mow while Russell works and then we're all going to get some flowers/bushes and plant them. We are getting our driveway paved soon and after that, we're planting trees up both sides of the driveway (which Russell isn't looking forward to planting). Anyway, I hope to get some pictures today and will post them soon. Enjoy the weather!!!!

Happy Easter!

We had a great (and busy) Easter day! We started with the Easter Bunny visiting our house while Camden was sleeping. He left a trail of easter eggs when he snuck in Camden's room! Camden was so excited and surprised -- he said he didn't hear that Easter Bunny at all! The Easter Bunny ate all of the carrots that we left for him and he left Camden lots of goodies.

After breakfast, we headed to church and had an Easter Egg hunt. This is Camden looking excited -- ha ha!

After church, we went to Great Grandma Smith's house for lunch. She will be 91 in June!!! She gets so tickled at Camden and he loves going through her box of toys! We had an Easter Egg hunt there too.

After that, we went to Mom & Dad's for dinner and another egg hunt. Camden racked up on the eggs!! Uncle Mike was giving 4-wheeler rides so you can bet Camden was excited!! My camera died shortly after this :(

Baby Chick!

Aunt Margaret bought Camden a baby chick for Easter! Luckily, she agreed to let it stay at her house! Camden picked out the chick named Chandler (Margaret had to buy 6). Here are a couple pictures of the cute little things.

I think this one was Chandler...

Sports for Tots

We signed Camden up for Sports for Tots again this year. This is a program that the Bedford Parks & Rec puts together for kids ages 3-5 (I think). He did it last year and liked it so we decided to try it again. For April, they learn the fundamentals of basketball and in May, they learn baseball. They also do cheerleading and soccer but we won't be signing up for those :)

There were about 12 kids there last night, ranging in all ages. Camden did pretty well, although he was much more interested in running around the big gym. It's worth it as long as he has fun--that's all that matters to me!! I tried to take pictures of him dribbling the ball but they all turned out too blurry. Boy did he sleep good last night!!!

Mom & Dad are home!!!!

Yay--Mom and Dad are finally home!!!!! Camden and I went by their house last night to welcome them home. They had a good trip but now are trying to overcome the jet lag and get their "land legs" back.

Camden was fascinated with the worm in this bottle...I wasn't quite sure how to explain this one :)

Loving on Grandma & Papa!!

Camden was pretending to be "Buzz Lightyear" with Papa!

Mom & Dad: we're glad you're home! The next time you go away for such a long time, you have to take us with you (hint, hint: Disney cruise)!

Coloring Easter Eggs...

Mike & Abby invited us to their house yesterday to color Easter Eggs with Brooke. Camden was so excited--he loves going to visit Brooke. The coloring eggs went well overall but was very messy!!!

What a happy face!!!
Abby & Brookie-Brooke!

What a fun Saturday!

Our grass desperately needed mowing on Saturday and our mower wouldn't start! So we set off to Lowe's to buy a new battery. Well, the battery worked but when Russell went to start mowing, the tire came off of the rim! So, we set out again to go borrow Big Russell's truck (Russell's Dad) and then we had to go get the trailer from his uncle. On the way back, we couldn't decide if we should just borrow his Dad's mower or buy a new one. So, we decided to buy a new one. After we loaded up the mower (and a new patio set I fell in love with), off we went home to start mowing. Well, half way home, I noticed they didn't charge us the right price for the mower. They had charged us for the cheaper mower (which was $100 difference). So, we turned around again and headed back to Lowe's for the 3rd time. After they charged us the right price, we finally made it home to mow. After Russell had finished mowing and we were eating lunch, Lowe's called and said that they forgot to give us the free cart that came with the purchase of a mower -- which was valued at $110!!! It pays to be honest!!! Anyway, Russell went back to Lowe's for the 4th time to pick that up.

Here Russell and Camden with our new mower:

And here is Camden with the new patio furniture set (which was very tough to put together by the way). I don't know why he smiled that way. Camden and I ate dinner on our new patio set and he loved it. He ate almost all of his food. We may have to eat out there more often!

Such a boy!

When I picked Camden up from school yesterday, I noticed that he had a hole in the knee of his jeans. I don't how this keeps happening, but this is the 3rd pair of pants that has somehow developed holes, and these are all fairly new pants! Camden promises that he didn't cut them (he went through a spell last summer where he was cutting his shirts at school when the teacher wasn't looking). Anyway, it's starting to get warmner and he definitely won't be able to wear these pants in the fall cause he is growing so fast, so I'm not worried.

What is so funny though is that what started out as a small hole in the knee turned into this giant hole with his entire knee showing. I thought it was cute and saw an opportunity for a picture!!

Such an innocent face!!

Our fun (and busy) weekend!

Carter and Riley (my niece and nephew) came to stay with us Saturday night. Camden was so excited about them coming!!! We went to Wal-Mart, had pizza and ice cream for dinner and had fun playing together.

It was Russell's idea to do Coke (actually Pepsi--which is much better) floats after dinner. I think everyone enjoyed them (even though I was nervous about Camden having Pepsi -- he doesn't have caffeinne very often).

On Sunday, Camden's best friend Kody came to play after church while his parents went to a play that their nephew was in. Camden was triply excited (is that a word?) to have Carter, Riley and Kody there!! They played with just about every toy that we own! Carter likes to play darts so we did quite a bit of that while the little kids played. Sad to say, Carter beat me at darts--that boy is good!! They were all very well behaved and it was a pleasure to have them. Everyone had gone back home by 5:00 that evening and I crashed for the rest of the night.
